I had previously rated these guys a 4 however it seems like theyve gone down hill a lot with the changes theyve made recently. All the dishes we ordered were lacking in portion size and more importantly, authenticity. Highlight of the night was the durian dessert. However the savory dishes were all a bit disappointing if Im honest. It makes me wonder whether they are trying too much to cater for the western palate. Please next time give me more depth of flavor!
Went to pinto Thai for a quick lunch before work! They have a roaring lunchtime trade with their cheap lunches between all the local office workers and all the police dropping by. Parkings a bit iffy since it’s on Logan road but if you’re lucky, you might get a quick park out the front.I got their chicken Pad Thai for lunch, lovely Al dente noodles, a good balance of flavours in the Pad Thai sauce, lots of egg, tofu, garlic chives and bean sprouts too! A solid feed for lunch time.I got their chicken satay as my entree which are priced by each one. The peanut sauce was great, mildly spicy and a bit hotter would’ve been nice, but that’s just me personally. The chicken was a touch dry but not inedible. The drink is a great pineapple juice based mocktail, the name of which eludes me.I got their green Thai chicken curry for takeway, good solid green Thai curry wih green beans, bamboo shoots and red capsicum but a bit too much rice. It had soaked up almost all the sauce! All in all, not a bad little Thai spot. Great for a cheap, fast lunch if you’re in the area! thatseriousgirl.blogspot.com
Located next door to Little Black Pug Cafe this is a quaint little Thai restaurant. We seat ourselves and order off the $9.90 Lunch Menu. Our friendly Thai waiter delivers our meals within 15 minutes. * Chicken Fried Rice ($9.90) is hot off the wok, nicely seasoned and tasty albeit a tad sweet. At this price it is still a bargain!* Seafood Pad See Ew ($14.90) costs an extra $5 for the Seafood. Chicken, Pork or Beef Pad See Ew is $9.90! Freshly fried, this tasty dish is once again a tad sweet but I finish the whole plate. It is unfortunate that many of Brisbanes Thai restaurants add too much sugar to their meals. A half point deduction for the excessive sugar reduces the overall score to 4. Thank you Pinto Thai! With… Phuong Tran
