Beer is ok But dont go there for food. Food quality is not good really disappointing
There’s no hospitable in their hospitality. The Mount Gravatt hotel holds in high distinction their disrespect for people. The management team lacks consideration and accommodation of families and must consider alternative forms of employment outside the hospitality environment.Quick observations; high staff turnover, impolite staff, rude staff lead by an intolerable manager. I encourage anyone, staff of MGH included, that is looking for a respectful environment of hospitable interactions, please consider the Salisbury Hotel. Their staff are thoughtful, their staff are courteous, their staff are appreciative, the food is good, and the physical environment is warm and family.
I have been here a few times for Lunch and it is always fairly good value for money, however the service is getting worse and worse. The management seem to be main culprits, the place just has a really bad vibe which is a shame. I won’t be returning.
Mmm G Hotel. For a fun, typical pub meal consider the MG Hotel! As it’s our local drinking hole, myself and many of my close university-attending friends/housemates have been happy with the offered menu and fun atmosphere. Some menu items can be relatively pricey, though.
Too expensive for what it is… If you don’t have children that run around like possessed monkeys, then dont go there. Too many noisy children left to run riot. The food is not up to the prices. My premium eye fillet came out missing the bacon (wasn’t a 250gr steak either) and was more well done than medium. I’m sure because we presented the $10 off a main over $20, our meals were downsized. My friends had the seafood basket which was smaller portions than usual and the chicken snitzel was overdone. The toilets could use an update. Very old and smelly and not kept clean. Won’t be rushing back.
The hotel’s major attraction for us was the kid’s play area which is generally good in terms of play equipment. Some of the electronic stuff looks a little tired but the kids don’t seem to mind. The food is standard pub fare. Nothing more, but it is after all a suburban pub. I had the 180 g fillet mignon. It was supposed to be medium rare but was more medium well done. It was perfectly edible but a bit pricey at $38. My wife had the battered barra which was OK but a little heavy on the batter. We were both happy enough though as this is pub food. The beer, of course, was just fine.My only suggestion would be that the staff were a little lackluster and a little lift in this department would make a big difference.
Decent pub food. We come here every couple of weeks for a nice pub meal and it hasn’t disappointed so far. Have a good range to try something new or if you just want a nice hunk of steak it delivers at a reasonable price. Atmosphere is nice as the dining area is large and you can usually find a nice quiet spot to yourself.
