The decor of this place had me at hello. My SIL enjoyed the salad bowl w quinoa and I had the soup special which happened to be Minestrone served in a freshly baked cob. The food came out hot and fast, the soup was like a warm hug packed with goodness. The fresh lemonade was a highlight!
Disappointing. I recently ordered & purchased a cake for my daughters 21st Birthday. I must say while it was decorated beautifully the cake itself was a let down. It was dry and tasteless, like the previous review I thought the cake was close to stale. It was a cookies & cream cake with cookies & cream butter cream costing $125 and with all the good reviews on their FB page I had high expectations that it would be delicious. I messaged the ladies to let them know and received a response saying the cake had been baked the day before (Sunday) and iced and an hour before I collected it. So I don’t know what went wrong because it was the general consensus at my daughters dinner party that it was as I stated dry & tasteless. Perhaps it’s a matter of taste!
Hit and Miss but overall good. This place is just down the road from me so often stop in for a little treat. I must say this place produces some of the best cakes and cupcakes I have ever eaten, in saying that though the quality seems a bit hit and miss some days they are the greatest treat known to man other days they seem like day old store brought bakery items. I don’t know whether this is to do with when they bake the items, maybe they keep cupcakes for a couple of days or something but definitely seems to be a big difference in quality each time I go there. If you want a piece of cake make sure its cut from a new cake not a pre-sliced cut as again the pre-sliced seems to be a lot drier and on occasion on the border of stale. But don’t let this turn you off if you go on the right day and make your selection carefully then you are in for one of the best treats on the Gold Coast. Good Luck
