Delicious food with a great spot to sit and people watch. The staff are always friendly and approachable, and don’t judge when you order extra hollandaise on the side, bonus
Best coffee in New Farm! And $3.50 for a small! The toast and eggs is also excellent. A really nice break from the bustle of the rest of James St.
Delicious food and superb coffee, wasn’t busy for a Saturday morning which might put some people off but the staff were amazing and friendly. Coffee took some time to come even after food but again it was a Saturday morning so to be expected.
My favourite breakfast spot. The food is great and the people are better, always packed and always enjoyable. Personal recommendation is the avo on toast.
It’s the morning after the night before and all I wanted was sugar and grease. After dragging my sorry self out of bed to the shower and into some clothes, it was near midday so I knew that venturing out held the potential for encountering other human beings. In the end, my rumbling stomach won out over my aversion to people. I got to the Little Pantry feeling as sour as a lemon (there were people at every table grrr) and then I started chatting with the lovely young lady taking the orders. She was patient with me (it’s counter service btw) as I ummed and uhhhed over the menu, cracking jokes and asking about my Friday night adventures. I’m not even going to apologise: I had the pancakes and bacon with coffee and a juice. I don’t care – calories shmalories!!! The thing I adore about the Little Pantry is their back room which most patrons seem to be unaware of. (Oops, secret’s out!) It has both lounges and tables and shelves of books and old newspaper clippings cover the walls. It hits just the right note of quirkiness that so many restaurants strive for these days. I had the room to myself and within fifteen minutes, my yummy hangover cure was ready. It didn’t take long before I had consumed every morsel on my plate. If you haven’t gone to the Little Pantry yet, I’m afraid you haven’t lived. It sure beats the hell out of another well-known New Farm restaurant!!
A nice little spot for brunch. The food was ok (one poached egg was nice and runny the other was hard boiled) but the coffee was the stand out here.
My favorite place to eat breakfast! Have tried almost all the dishes, and every one I love. Great coffee too!!Would highly recommend the Pantry eggs if you love savory, and the sweet stack if you love sweet!
