Coffee was passable here but the accompanying almond croissant was much better fare. They have a variety of baked goods here & seem to sell a lot of the pies. There is an area in which to sit so I gladly rested my weary legs there with my takeaway

Stopped into The Bakeologists in New Farm to sample their artisan bread and pies. After much deliberations, I went with the Roast Chicken Dinner Pie ($5.50) and a Focaccia ($1).The Roast Chicken Dinner Pie was a little lite on the chicken, but the potatoes, peas and corn worked well with the thick gravy and had good flavor. The only negative was the overpowering flavor of sesame seeds – the top was covered – but otherwise this tasted like a Sunday chicken roast dinner in pie form. This rated a 3.The price of the Focaccia wasn’t listed, so I may have chuckled when she told me it was only a dollar. This had a nice crisp crust and a chewy centre. This too rated a 3.I was planning to go with a scrambled egg and bacon panini, but spied the homemade tomato relish lurking. Unfortunately, these are pre-made and I couldn’t get one without the relish.I like the fact that they are proudly family owned and operated – the staff was friendly and attentive.
