Walked up to little cove after recommendations from others. Unfortunately however, from the outset a disappointing and unwelcoming experience. We sat down, and I went over to the counter to order. Mid way through my own “hello how are you”, I was abruptly and sternly interrupted by (what appeared to be) the oldest member of staff on duty whom I later found out – was one of the owners. She lifted her finger and pointed at me, whilst looking over at the coffee roaster (not even acknowledging her customer) and said “hold on”. I felt like turning around and walking out, there and then. Anyway benefit of the doubt – myself and my partner stayed, we ordered a long black and a hot chocolate. Chocolate was ok – weak and watery. Long black however was undrinkable, burnt beyond recognition and unpalatable. I work very closely with 5 senses, Proud Marys and other highly trained and distinguished rosters across Australia. Without playing the “I’m in coffee” card, I can forgive the small scale roastery and even the fact the coffee may have missed the mark on this occasion (and judging by other reviews, on many occasion before). However the coldness and complete rude nature we were greeted, cannot be overlooked. On the cafe bio it reads “In former lives we were an accountant and a teacher”, well – I think you need to be taught how to be polite and welcoming to your customers, before you loose revenue. Stick to the office jobs.

They made some big claims on the blackboard out the front, but we found the long black to be very burnt. We didn’t eat anything, but it looked more promising.

There’s no pleasing some people by the indications of some of the reviews. Dog and Bike Friendly, this bustling coffee establishment makes a decent brew. Ordered a takeaway soy flat white; a well balanced strong coffee and as hot as you can get soy. One of the best coffees I’ve had on the sunny coast.

This one has soooo bad Chai latte. I love Chai latte. It is my most favourite drink in the world so i have high expectations with it. And Little Cove disappointed me. It had a good smell, Chai smell but the flavour, it tasted horrible. It was weird at first, then the taste got stronger. I had to call for an eggtart to get rid of that flavour. I’m sad. I know I can’t judge the restaurant based on just one drink but apparently, if i ever have the chance to come back here, I won’t order Chai latte.
