Fabulous location right on the beach. They have a bar menu and you need to line up to order. We haven’t tried the food but the prices seem quite high for a surf club – although i assume that reflects the amazing location in a tourist town. That being said our rating is based purely on the drinks we’ve ordered and the friendliness of the staff. I think this is a good place for a couple of drinks with friends and possibly a light snack but there are plenty of fabulous restaurants on hastings street to spend your money on.

Best view for sure! Make sure you come down to the surf club for a beer and a bite! I enjoyed my meals and although the restaurant is usually very busy, the service is quite fast and efficient.

I don’t like to give surf clubs a bad review, I know they do their bit for the community and are such a valuable asset. So I’m giving it a 3 when it really should be a 0. Sorry, the food was cold over cooked and horrible.

Great view of the beach from an elavated position and that’s the positives out of the way.For a bistro where you have to line up to order this place is raking it charging the same prices as restaurants along Hasting Street. We had orders of Beef Hokkien Noodles for $23. Beef was chewy from cheap meat. The Sword Fish was Asian green curry sauce was also $32. The sword fish was cut so thin it was a slice of ham. It was over cooked and dry. The rice was dry and clumpy. Have a drink here soak in the view. Eat elsewhere there plenty of choices. The club needs to provide a higher standard these of food and lower their prices.

It is a casual and quick meal place, in a resort area. The price for meals are slightly cheaper than other dining spots nearby, but the quality follows the budget. I think it is still ‘tourist price’. I rather go elsewhere to receive a meal with fresh ingredients even extra dollars. If you’d go to drink with a few nibbles, it would be great place for saving. The location is great, facing beach with open deck.
