It’s the little touches that count!!. Mother and daughter came here on Friday night. Had wonderful service from 2 owners. Lovely tapas and we ordered 2 of medium priced wines which were out of stock so we were upgraded to cloudy bay – a lovely treat. 10 out of ten guys!!!!—–17 May, 2015—–Lamb Skewers. Tender lamb, beetroot and salad. Yummy

Great food and ambiance!. If you’re looking for respite from the expensive and hectic Hastings St, Shades is for you. Lovely ambience at the Junction, reasonably priced tapas and wine list, and lovely staff. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Food & Friendly Service. Highly recommended the Tappas menu particularly the salt & pepper calamari. They catered everything we ordered to gluten free and it tasted amazing!! Will be back!

Yummy and friendly. Was greeted by a very friendly and welcoming smile and attentive service to match. Love that breakfast is served all day! Had the vegetarian breakfast with poached eggs – a tad oily for my liking but apart from that the flavours were really delicious. The salty grilled haloumi went prefectly with the toasted sourdough and poached eggs. Tomatoes, spinach and mushrooms were also really tasty 🙂 Will definitely return next time I’m in the area!

Dinner. My husband & I went to Shades last night. I had one of the nicest meals I have had in a long time. We had 5 tapas dishes; my 3 favourites were the Thai fish cakes, the finger licking prawns and the incredibly rich delicious mushrooms. Service perfect. Will go back at the drop of a hat
