Came here for breakfast on Anzac Day. It was about 70% full when we arrived and even though the menus advise us to order and pay at the counter, the staff kindly took our order at the table. This turned out to be a pain when we came to leave and had to get in a line of 8 or so groups lining up to order. Anyway, small issue. The staff were friendly and attentive. We had a bottle of water on our table within 20 seconds of seating ourselves.I ordered the Caponata Siciliana which was eggplant, capsicum and caramelised onion with persian feta and balsamic glaze on sourdough. Some may say it was a small breakfast but for only $10.90 it was as expected. The sourdough was super chunky. The feta was very sparse, about 4 tiny drops. The feta was part of my decision to order this so I was disappointed. Flavours were nice though. Partner had the avocado on sourdough with persian feta and dukkah. He was satisfied with it but there was nothing special about it. He ordered the haloumi on the side and that was delicious. I think it was cut thicker so it had a chewy grilled exterior and was soft in the middle. Coffees were quite good. Overall, a solid 3/5. I would most likely return for a takeaway coffee as the limited menu and small seating area doesn’t entice me to stay and dine. Although, I did wish I was hungry enough to try the baked eggs so I may still return!
Great neighborhood coffee and brunch stop in the Norman Park area. Extensive coffee menu with interesting blends available. Great Gluten Free menu. I tried 3 dishes in one visit as it all looked too delicious to resist. The baked eggs were beautiful. The owners Adam and Rejoice finish off the experience by being accommodating, efficient and friendly. Will definitely recommend to my friends.
I’ve been here a bunch of times for my pre-work coffee. Great service and I love the coffee. It’s nice to have something consistently of a decent standard. I am yet to try the food offering as I think it’s quite limited given the space. Will continue guzzling coffees from here.
A nice coffee in a nice outdoor area on a nice corner cafe on a nice Sunday morning. Dovetail serve up delightful, fragrant Uncle Joe coffee which has a slew of awards under its belt. I’ve read elsewhere (in older reviews of Uncle Joe’s cafe which has since closed) that this coffee is suited to quite a low extraction temperature. The coffee I had today was probably a touch cooler than average. This is not a criticism by any stretch, but if you’re the kind of person who likes a scorching hot coffee you might need to speak up. I’ll be back to try more!
Went there for a coffee today and the standard was extremely high, the soy was one of the very few soy coffees I’ve had that wasn’t curdled. The service was friendly and the barista definitely knew what he was doing! I would definitely return
Definitely in the top 3 best coffees in Brisbane. Absolute attention to detail, relaxed staff, and simple food done well. The vintage crockery is a nice touch and the outdoor seating is relaxing. While there aren’t many seats you rarely have to wait. While there’s always a specials board, a seasonal menu wouldn’t go astray.
The staff were friendly. They serve Uncle Joe’s coffee. The avo on sourdough was presented nicely but needs a drizzle of olive oil to finish it off.
