Drift is a nice restaurant and a great place to go out to dinner however the staff are at times overly attentive. The food is nice especially the burgers and some of the pastas taste great too.
Great burgers and chips. Nice selection of beers. Great service from staff, even during the transition. My wife and I were regulars until we moved and still often make an appearance over the weekends. I also, ride up Tamborine for a slush puppy. Not many places have the old style Slush Puppies.
Went to Drift on a Saturday morning after staying in Mount Tambourine for a wedding. Staff were helpful and food was yummy! Wish they has a few more inventive options but still had a great experience taking in the beautiful scenery from the outdoor deck. Would return.
The food is AMAZING! The wait staff were VERY attentive, knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. It was great to meet the VERY talented young Chef at the end of our meal and I must say it was a joy to see such a dedicated and supportive team. I had trouble choosing from the appetizing menu (I wanted it all) and was extremely pleased with the Chicken Lime & Coconut Salad I chose. It was SO delicious I wanted to lick the plate! The wine list was extensive, the ambiance casual and friendly and it was wonderful sitting on the large balcony with the winter sun streaming down on us. I would thoroughly recommend this restaurant as a ‘must visit’ on Tamborine Mountain and look forward to my next visit (with many more to follow) till I have tried all the dishes offered on the very reasonably priced menu! Thanks for a very satisfying afternoon – Keep up the great work!
Under new management and still finding their feet, it seems. Service was friendly but very slow, with one waitperson taking orders and the other delivering food and clearing tables. It was frustrating to have the second person pass my table several times while I was waiting to order with no acknowledgement or reassurance that my order would be taken soon. The menu has lots of interesting twists on cafe favourites, but I was disappointed with my burger. The patty was dry and chewy and wasn’t served hot. The chips were great, though, making up for it. Ordering at the counter would simply make more sense for the layout they have.
