This place has a beautiful ambience and It’s romantic and cosy. Polite staff and good service. The food however could be much much better unfortunately. :(We both had the king prawns to start. Enjoyed this starter but wasn’t wowed. Mains: Beef duo – overcooked and dry. Spinach and ricotta cannelloni – under seasoned and lacked so much flavour. I thought it would come in an delicious rich tomato sauce but no, it was just covered in a light tasteless sauce. I was really disappointed with this meal and I’ve had better cannelloni from Aldi. Desert was alright but still lacked flavour.. we had the chocolate fondant. Enjoyed our time here and would probably come again to stay in the accommodation as it is a gorgeous place but I wouldn’t come back to dine.
Just how I love my food – locally and carefully sourced. We stayed at Pethers and had breakfast $ I knew that based on our brekky, in particular my eggs, dinner was going to be good and it did not disappoint. Staff were very informative and proud to inform us of their ethical sourcing, we loved chatting with staff about other local attractions and finds ie coffee at Mountain coffee. Wonderful value and variety in the set menu and the rainforest scenery – well lets just say I’ve dined in the Tuscan mountains and this is a good competitor.
Great service, however the food was nothing more than a microwaved meal heated up (and you could even hear the microwave going whilst sitting in the awkwardly quiet atmosphere). A complete waste of money and time. Don’t bother!
Me and my boyfriend came here for our weekly date night. The environment was so relaxed and classy as was the service form the waitress. The food itself though was exquisite and extraordinary. We both had the 3 course meal, the risotto as a starter was absolutely Devine, I had the lamb with couscous and mixed vegetables for main and my better half had the pork with Apple sauce and they were both phenomenal and the deserts were out of this world. Although expensive this hidden gem in the forest is worth ever dollar. The chefs are genuine culinary artists.
