We had visited this cafe a few weeks back when it was under different management, was good then as is still is. I know toasties can be boring but in this instance the eggplant one I ordered was gourmet standard. Lots of tasty filling & the addition of the olive tepanade just upped the anti. Coffees were also a stand out. Well presented & very smooth with rich notes
Went to check out chapel park this morning as it is one of the cafes I hadn’t been to that was featured on the “50 best brunches” in the courier mail. We got the mixed mushrooms added avocado and buckwheat date porridge. The meals were well presented and tasted good. I think there could of been some more flavour in the mixed mushroom but overall It was solid. I also thought $4.50 for not even half an avocado was a bit steep but overall my experience was good. The coffee from moonshine roasters in Byron they use is also very good. The staff were friendly, service was great.
Upon walking into the cafe, I was struck by the pleasant bright and airy atmosphere. Was overall a very enjoyable brunch, though on this hot day I probably would’ve appreciated a little bit of aircon.I got the strawberry pikelets (which are seasonal). They were Japanese style – super light and fluffy, which I loved. The strawberry was tangy enough not to make it sickening and the generous serving of cream/white chocolate sauce wasn’t too heavy and helped to wash it all down. The açai smoothie was good but not really worth the steep price. It just tasted like the blueberry and banana smoothies I make at home except with honey added. It was pretty filling though – I shared one with a friend and we barely finished it. Only real downside is that the dozens of bottles of water had no lids and were just left to stew on a shelf.
Really cool atmosphere, a great spot in Nundah with trendy decor. Ordered the Strawberries and Cream Pikelets, my friend ordered the Green Bowl. Great serving size, quite tasty pancakes and nice texture with three different types of strawberries (fresh, compote and freeze dried). A small menu, which isn’t always a bad thing. Options for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free. Coffee was very good too.
