Siam Sensations has been a long time favourite of ours. Usually providing outstanding flavour with good service, this restaurant is frequented heavily in Nundah by locals and visitors alike.Last night was not as great as usual, but was still a good experience. We ordered the Pak Td (Tempura Vegetable) for an entree, and was too excited and hungry for pictures! The flavours were spot on, with the vegies crisp and fresh on the inside. Our mains were Pad Thai, and (supposed to be Pad Prik Khing but unfortunately some wires were crossed) Pad Khing. I queried with the waitress if the dish I had was Pad Prik Khing, she advised it was Pad Khing and apologized for the mix up. Not one to waste food, I kept the meal. This wasn’t a massive crisis to me but it may be for others. The Pad Thai was delicious, perfect temperature with a good mix of vegies. The flavour was there and the dish did not disappoint. My Pad Khing was tasty, nothing to wow me but I did enjoy it and would order it again if I felt like a subtly flavoured stir fry dish.It was a shame, as I have had the Pad Prik Khing before and it is a stand out.The restaurant was able to accommodate our dietary requests of no egg and fish sauce in the dishes. Yay for Vegan food! The service for the evening was ok but slow at times. As it was mid week, I think they did not have as many staff on as peak times. All in all a pleasant visit.
Without sounding too cynical, your standard run-of-the-mill Thai restaurants really created to serve the Thai favourites to Westerners. Pad Thai, Green Chicken Curry etc etc etc. It was there and I was too lazy to cook so I had Tom Yum which was surprisingly quite good.Like most Thai in Brisbane, terribly overpriced for what it is.
Service is terrible and food is not special. How they got overscored is it’s only one thai restaurant in Nundah. I wont recommend here anybody.
One of the best Thai restaurant in Brisbane. Awesome food and tasty. Best one for vegetarians – the dishes they prepare don’t smell meat at all – not even egg. We usually have vegetarian dishes in here and patron from last 4 years as we remember. Love the food – keep up the good work !!
Right in the middle of Nundah village provides a great lunch option.Clean, simple decor.Good food, fresh, tasty and service is quite quick.Air con in summer and warm in winter. This is a local restaurant definitely worth supporting. As usual with Asian food, great value for money!
Honestly i did not enjoy this thai restaurant, my mother in law is thai so we eat a lot of thai and i like to check out restaurants regularly. Firstly the staff were incredibly rude, they were so cold and didn’t smile at me once. I love going to thai restaurants for the atmosphere they have such a lovely culture it’s so warm and vibrant! But not this restaurant i always say thank you in thai ‘kawpkoon ka’ and they get very excited and all yell it out together but they didn’t even look at me or say anything i felt embarrassed! Anyways back to it, once seated they only gave my partner and me one cup for water i just left it i dont mind sharing, we waited 45 mins for entree then another 15 for mains… the food was nice definitely not the best.. by this time we still didn’t get our drinks, I asked and they forgot. I will not go back here again, rude staff and an unwelcoming atmosphere it made me feel like it was an effort to serve me… if you want better food with a great traditional atmosphere and staff, try siam samrarn at west end!
Without a doubt the best Thai I’ve had in Brisbane. So much flavour packed into their dishes! Take away rice is small, wish they were bigger but that’s the only negative I have. Staff have always been really lovely but if the staff aren’t pleasant enough then maybe takeaway is a good option.. Good food is more important!
