MSG alert! This use to be one of my favourites. But over the last week it appears that copious amounts of the nasty artificial food enhancer MSG has been added to their food. As a result it has made me very ill. We also noticed very little meat in the meal and the vegetables were few and far between. If MSG has been added to the meals now (which I highly suspect) – shame on them. You’d expect this from a fast greasy Chinese joint not a place where you are paying $20 plus a meal at a restaurant that should be authentic and confident with their fresh flavours. They have lost a couple of regular customers.
Heard good reviews about here. But very disappointed. Price ranking is not correct- At $40 per head for a starter and a main it should be $$$6 of us. The bad:Massaman was mainly potatoes with only a few slices of beef. Thai beef salad- meat had an overpowering charcoal taste. Everyone gave it a try. Just terrible. Pad Thai chicken- a pile of noodles, not much chicken or even vegetables. Pork belly specialty at $24.90 was a massive disappointment. Not authentic and very dry, without the sauce it was not even nice. The Good:Green curry really good. Starters were above average. Evening finished off with owner shouting across the restaurant at somebody in kitchen. Will not return.
Great food! A little unsure with the reviews I had read but being here on holiday and craving some Thai-this place was closest. The restaurant itself has some great history with photos and stories along the walls and the decor and fit out is very nice, we however opted for takeaway. It took 20mins and we got there 5:45pm-other people were already dining in and ordering in person plus lots of phone orders whilst we were placing our order. The roti bread almost tasted sweet-which was weird and the peanut satay didn’t pack a lot of flavour. The vegetable spring rolls were cold.We ordered coconut rice for two-it was huge, more suited to 4 pax.The red and green curry were delicious and satisfying with authentic flavours. All in all, worth it!
