It was another Thursday afternoon spent with a fellow foodie. We both were in desperate need of a caffeine hit (especially me), so I began researching on my phone. Coffee on Cook was near by, showing only 12mins drive so off we went…Lucky to get a street parking, we arrived around 3:15pm. The cafe was quiet, maybe the rush just ended? My friend and I ordered two take-away coffees. Coffee – (Merlo Blend) My flat white was served lukewarm, it was watery and barely consisted any caffeine flavour. Unfortunately, it didn’t satisfy my coffee fix. I use to have Merlo’s coffee back in my Uni days and my experiences have always been good. The staff on shift that day wasn’t welcoming and didn’t illustrate a positive attitude either.
We went on a weekday lunch for a quick brunch meal nearby and one of the few in the area was Coffee on Cook. The one staff we saw was very nice and cheerful which made the experience even better.We both got the Eggs Benedict one with smoked salmon and the other with ham. We could barely finish it and the price was very reasonable. The smoked salmon and ham were flavourful and abundant. The only con of this dish was too much hollandaise sauce which took away from the other parts of the dish. We ordered the coffee and chai latte were brewed quite well too.
