I came here with a couple of girlfriends, after a recommendation from my partner! For starters I had the crumbled and fried Olives stuffed with pork mince, and the Funghi Pizza as my main. Both the starter and the main were delicious and i looked really good to my friends who loved my choice of venue! They loved their food too, and want to come back again next month to try another pizza!Nic the front of house manager was great, and was always on standby for anything we needed.Looking forward to returning
Ate outside on one of their enormous bar tables on steroids (we were walk ins from the movies at the Blue Room; very close). Not much aspect out there (looking at a BWS). Would be much nicer inside but pleasant nonetheless. The ceiling heater kept us warm. 3 of us had the Risotto; found favour with all. I was a little moreadventurous with the wild boar Cinghiale. Wow, very tasty and not as gamey as it sounds but provided that something a bit different to the usual pasta dishes; congratulations chef! Wait staff were attentive and friendly. Will be back.
So after spending the last month eating my way through Asia, getting back to a cooler Brissy what a great way to warm up on a Saturday night than to tuck into some Italian and a few reds !. We landed at II Locale and was warmly welcomed to our table, the place was filled with families and couples and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. After choosing a nice Chianti from the extensive wine list, we settled on the Raviocone braised oxtail ravioli with a chilli jus, and the Gnocchi ripieni with truffle ricotta as our main dishes. The meals came quickly and was a accompanied by a very small piece of bread roll for each of us. Both the dishes were delicious and perfectly cooked, we both loved our choices. But !, we both were really disappointed with the dish size, we both choose the main size and for my ravioli to be $36 for about 4/5 pieces, I was disappointed. The same goes for the gnocchi at $32. I don’t want this to sway people from visiting, as the pizzas being served looked delicious and other dishes the same, but on comparing to other Italian restaurants we have dined at, we got much better bang for our buck, so to speak !.
Had some take away pizzas. There is better available in the area. Am keen to try something else off the menu and give them a second chance but there is too many others to try 🙂
Service was very good, decor was nice but tables really close together and got really noisy when full. Calamari was delicious and very fresh and tender, prawn pizza was a bit skimpy on the prawn but really yummy. Lemon curd trifle was amazing! Overall really good food but a bit noisy.
Attended a pasta making course with Il Locale – excellent day, beautiful lunch & terrific advice/guide. Accommodated me as a late arrival, much appreciated. Great options for vegetarians. Highly recommended.
All seemed promising when we first arrived with attentive service and a nice feel to the restaurant. The small serving sizes (the mains were more of an entree size) for the price did leave us hungry at the end of the meal though. Il Posto beats this place hands down.
