Today I was invited by Pamela to have lunch at this restaurant which had grabbed my attention on my last visit to Rosalie but had slipped from my mind.Arriving not much after opening I’m surprised to see no guests at such a beautiful location with their nice wooden floors and furniture. The staff promptly greeted me and informed to choose a seat of my liking. After pondering at the menu for a while the lack of visible vegan options scared me but shortly after I was able to find options which are always welcome such as the polenta fritters and the margherita which are classics that I grew up appreciating. After a couple of minutes waiting I get my polenta fritters, they look golden and crunchy and are served with a side of tomato sauce instead of the aioli at my request. The polenta is as crunchy as I expected but inside it’s still moist and creamy, it’s well seasoned but a bit oily. Would rate it a 4 out of 5.After about 25 minutes of my entree being served, I see my pizza making its way to my table, it looks amazing, simple and appetizing as a margherita should be. On my first bite I’m sold, the crust is the way I like it, thin and crispy but not hard, the sauce on top has a good balance and I only wish there were a little bit more basil to it. Would also rate it a 4 out of 5 since I feel it’s a bit too expensive for 22 dollars but it might feel like that because there was no cheese since I’m vegan.Overall I had a pleasant lunch and enjoyed the atmosphere and friendly manager who made sure everything was according to my needs :).

Thanks for the kindly invitation from Pamela for a Sunday lunch last week. This new management has been running around six months since the last owner retired. Honestly, I do not see much of the change but increasing happy vibe and passionate staff working in the restaurant. Took the same seat as four months ago and started our culinary journey. We decided to have a change to order the SARDE & SALMONE AFFUMICATO as the entrees. Honesty, it is the first time that I try the venetian style sardine dish but it did not let me down, particularly the Carasu bread which matches well with the sardine and the pickles. Hero should be the home-made cured salmon. The orange wedges and capers just perfectly bring the dish to another level. Both entrees were well presented with extra-ordinary portions. For the main, we chose the RISOTTO DEL GIORNO & POLLO, where the aroma of seafood taste from the risotto earned my appreciation immediately when it was presented to the table. Love the chef put a grilled prawn on top of the risotto that added the slightly BBQ meat taste to the dish. The two large chicken breast of the POLLO were juiced with crispy skin. The sandwiched Provolone ham delivered the saltiness to the breast meat. However, honey carrots and the saffron cream were slightly let down due to the taste was not string enough so the dish was not that balanced. Overall, I found the new management demonstrates its passion in serving authentic Italian dishes to the locals. Moreover, they do hold regular cooking class to promote the Italian cuisine, which reflects how keen they are in shaping and keeping their leading Italian restaurant image. It is an a-must visit restaurant.4 months ago Had a Sunday lunch @ this Italian restaurant and found that Joe K had been here and we both agreed that this is a good restaurant that worth for recommendation. We ordered three dishes as tapas style to share. They were GAMBERI, SELECZIONE DI SALUMI and the RISOTTO DEL GIORNO. The salami platter came in a spectacular presentation with three kind of self selected salami and the most interesting one was the duck salami that I never tasted before, which was good. However, the hero of this dish should be those gnoco fritto, which again was my first time to taste. They were just superb, looked great, not greasy and perfectly matched with the salami platter. Second to the table was the GAMERI, where the prawns was nicely deep fried with cured noodle wrapped around the prawn with nice presentation too. Risotto of the day came the last. Rice was perfectly cooked with diced salmon mixed together and taste was well balanced. It was a shame that I discovered such nice Italian restaurant so late and surely it would be put in my list of favourite restaurants in Brisbane. Well, I just wonder how much did they charged Joe for the whole suckling pig so I may arrange a gathering here with friends as well.
