We had been looking forward to trying this restaurant after walking past several times. We ordered through Foodora (and were very happy with their service – the delivery arrived very quickly).Unfortunately, the entire meal was disappointing. The mixed starters were OK but not great. The mountain lamb was dry and chewy. The goat curry had a nice sauce but the meat was chewy. The papadums were very oily. The yoghurt was good, but that is not enough. It’s hard to see us ordering from them again.

We love this resturant. Great food and excellent prices. My favourites are the sherpa chicken and goat curry. The other good thing about Kathmandu Newa is the parking. They have their own small parking area out the back and we always get a park.We have eaten here about ten times and it has always been good. Sitting out the back is very nice as it has a view towards the city.

I was really looking forward to taking my wife here on a date night as we had both driven past many times and wanted to try it. When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly staff member who showed us to one of the many quaint little spots to dine. We seated (sat on the floor in true style), perused the menu and ordered all within about 15 minutes. And then began the wait. A very very long wait. Almost an hour past and our entree finally arrived after we had enquired around the 40 minute mark. They weren’t overly busy but it seemed to be the theme of the night as we waited again for main and waited so long for dessert it was almost breakfast time. I wouldn’t have minded so much if the food had been worth the wait but it was lacking a good dose of flavour. Suffice to say the highlight of the night was the staff but since I’m paying for food I won’t be back.

Thanks Foodora for tonight’s lazy meal in!!! I have been meaning to try this place out for ages! My picks tonight were Goru Ko Masu Beef Curry and Sherpa Chicken Curry is that was zipped over to us via a scooter on this damp Brisbane evening. Of course the papadums were also a must and they were fresh and crispy! My fave was the chicken, I have a soft spot for coriander but both dishes were flavoursome with a little kick of spice! Foodora service was quick and easy, highly recommend it! Thanks Kathmandu for a lovely takeaway meal!!!

I’ve been here three or four times now – but it’s still not enough! The first time I came here was in a large party so we ordered the banquet which supplied us with more food than we could ever want – and all of it was delicious. The momo’s especially.Other times I’ve come here on dates and it’s been so quiet and romantic in the outdoor area. All of the food is consistently delicious and tastes quite fresh, and the mango lassi’s got me hooked. Would recommend this to anyone that is looking to go somewhere on a quiet date or as a large group. Very beautiful atmosphere and lovely service. ohmessylifeblog.com

Our friends chose the venue. We chose the low tables with cosy floor cushions in a well decorated nook. Everything we ate was delicious . We scraped our plates clean. I don’t tip and I rarely write reviews – but couldn’t help myself tonight on both counts. Excellent service. Intimate atmosphere. Extraordinary flavours.

For years we have been wanting to try this place and finally did. I must admit it we were so disappointed from the time we walked in that we ended up cancelling our food order and left. The service is really poor. It was an effort for us to even place our order let alone drinks. I was told that they did not have the chicken koftas that I ordered (which is what I was set on having) and they offered to make a variation to which I agreed. When our 2 Cokes came, they weren’t cold. And it irked me so I decided to pay for our drinks and cancel the food. $8 for 2 room temperature cokes!! Ridiculous I still would like to try the food because service is only half of a restaurant experience but I would probably get takeaway so I don’t have the crappy service experience again. Such a shame
