Lucky Fish will fast become the go-to cafe for fish and chips in Palm Cove. The Food: I ate perfectly cooked, lightly battered coral trout with beer battered fish. It was served with a generous portion of tartare, and there were other typical condiments already supplied on the table. I also had a serving of lime and pepper calamari, which was fresh, cooked to perfection, and well seasoned. The cafe was licensed and had a small but well considered selection. The Service: The young lady working the floor/front counter was absolutely outstanding! Its so hard to perfect the balance between being funny, engaging and efficient and being overbearing, but she nailed it, all the while maintaining a great level of professionalism. The Setting: The cafe is light, spacious and airy, with indoor, covered outdoor, and completely outdoor options available. It is well sheltered on the first floor of a gorgeous group of brightly painted shops, right on the esplanade in Palm Cove central. The decor was tasteful and simple.A delicious, friendly and reasonably priced option amongst a slew of overpriced locations. Bravo!JP
