I was here a few days ago dining in the outdoor area with Mr Meatballs. And back again tonight with my girlfriend who needed a steak dinner. We arrive at 6pm and were lucky to snare a parking space. A great start to our night! Bovine is situated next to the carpark so we were in the restaurant after twenty quick steps. Bovine looks spartan, like a large conference with a bar. It is dark and looks like a temporary dining room, tables and chairs look cheap and are moved around as customers come in. It is a casual atmosphere and diners dress accordingly. The 2 waitresses are friendly, efficient and are kept busy by a constant stream of diners coming and going. Most of us diners are here take advantage of Bovine’s 50% discounted March Menu. I order a medium-rare 400g rib on the bone with red wine jus (served separately on the side). My girlfriend, a medium 250g eye fillet with wild mushroom sauce and a dozen kilpatrick oysters. Unfortunately, the oysters are sold out. The kitchen is some 30-40 metres from Bovine and our meals finally arrive after 35 minutes, looking well presented and delicious. The portion of chips and salad are a wee bit small but the grilled steaks make up for everything. Our steaks aredelicious, grilled perfectly and the chef should be commended. The outside area which is used as a dining area for lunch is converted into a bar area at night. It is packed out with patrons tonight with loud music playing. In future, I will only lunch at The Normanby, preferring to dine al fresco.

Mediocre is the word that keeps coming to mind. The food andservice is on par with that youd find in an RSL club anywhere in regionalAustralia. The Upside its a handy location within the beautifulNormanby Hotel. A great venue for preand post dinner drinks. Its close to the city, Suncorp Stadium and innersuburbs. We found available parking (Thursday evening) in the lower carpark. The menu is expansive with a good range of choices for most tastes/diners.The Downside indifferent wait staff who seemed intent onjust getting through their shift. They did the bare minimum ie: took our orders and delivered food though hadto be asked for basics such as water despite there being water glasses on thetable on arrival. They delivered the wine and removed the lid from the bottle thoughdidnt pour it. We couldnt attract the attention of the wait staff for extradrinks or the bill. In the end I ended up going to the counter to pay and wasasked to pay an amount before actually seeing the bill. The food is average. Weordered a range of steaks cooked to different tastes (rare, medium-rare andmedium). They all looked and tasted exactly the same. The only discernibledifference was the sauce (ladled on top after cooking). The steaks came with stockstandard chips (fries) and a small bowl of salad. Unfortunately, the salad wasthe highlight of the meal. This was a really unfortunate experience as I had dined hererecently (within the last 12 months) and had a much better meal and experience.Well be giving Bovine a miss in the future.

Great steak. Great atmosphere. Speedy service. Arancini balls were amazing. Love this place. Could use some better music. Need to go back to try the ribs.

Exciting Menu But Really Let Down….. Went for lunch and sat at a table that was set up for us 4 only….no one else in the whole restaurant and it felt like we were sitting in a night club, not a restaurant, my 3 companions all ordered steaks of which only one was cooked to order, I ordered their signature Burger which came out cold and I mean cold not even warm and I swear one of my side chips was still frozen in the centre……roll was huge to give the illusion of a hearty burger but the filling was minimal……considered I deserved dessert after being disappointed with meal only to be disappointed again with dessert, Tiramisu had two sponge fingers amongst a mass of whipped cream…..I mean really, restaurant quality it was not? They obviously are lacking good chefs, won’t be back that’s for sure 🙁

1/10. I was dragged here for a birthday dinner. I don’t eat steak (yes I know it’s a steakhouse) but that has never been a problem anywhere I’ve been before. I had a look at the menu and there seemed to be some alternative options but as I tried to order them, they told me that those dishes were limited to the people sitting outside. I basically went through the whole menu, apart from the steaks, and everything I could eat, I was told I couldn’t. I ended up ordering bread (which was fresh and perfectly warmed) with dips, which tasted like premade supermarket dips. So all in all, I ate bread.

Great food, fantastic service!. I went to Bovine last night for my daughter’s birthday, when I called last minute the staff were more than happy to accommodate us. We were a group of 15 and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals! I personally had the fish of the day – beautifully presented and a great light meal! The rest of our friends were extremely happy and the staff sent out a complimentary cake for my daughter, nice touch!

Overcooked steak. Steak i got was incredibly overcooked, ordered medium rare, wasn’t the slightest hint of pink in it and some edge bits were so overdone I couldn’t even eat them. Salad was boring. Waitress we had (was with a large group) was good though, polite and quick on service.
