This is a great little diner. Lovely staff, nice atmosphere and the food is lovely.Being an American diner, I would expect decent sized servings for the price. Little bit disappointed with the price vs serving size but will come back for sure.

We always love trying out new places to eat and have been passed this placed a few times but it was closed. Today we decided to pop in as it was a bit of a dreary day. The 2 booths already had diners in them so we sat at the back by the window. Service was friendly and helpful. The food did take a bit longer than expected to be served, but I think they were caught of guard as it appears that we all decided to have lunch at the same time, and I don’t think they were ready for the rush. We had a dirty dog, a southern fried chicken burger, a large side of fries and a salted caramel madshake. Everything was delicious, served with a smile and an apology but well worth the wait. It appears this small business may get missed due to its location, but it well worth the time to stop in and try the menu. I will be back to try the waffles and the pancakes.

Really impressed with this place. Best burgers on the peninsula. Tried the fried chicken burger and it was the crispest piece of chicken I’ve ever had – fried to perfection. Portions are huge and tasty. Will be back to try their pancakes and shakes.

I’ve walked past this place around Redcliffe and was curious to try it. There’s good reviews on Facebook page but other than that this place is very low key and 100% underrated and I am glad to be the first to review Melz. We walked in, it was empty at 9am and was greeted warmly and we sat in one of the red booths. The theme was American diner (there’s only 3 booths) minimally decorated other than the wall of vintage signs but from where we were sitting it felt very nice. We ordered the Mac Daddy burger, The 2 patty burger and large fries and the Mad Fries. For drinks we ordered the Key Lime milkshake and the Cookies and Cream. Needless to say we were all very impressed with the portion size and quality of the burgers and the milkshakes were beautifully presented and tasted delicious! The burger is HUGE. Regrets: overestimating the amount of food I can eat re: The fries. Otherwise I would gladly recommend this place for anyone, you will not be disappointed!! The portion size, quality, price and service are very good. Prepare your stomach and bring maternity pants.Update: 2nd time around just as good. Burgers are big and definitely not for the faint-hearted. tasteslikeregret.wordpress.com
