I was hoping to leave a good review about how a complaint was handled efficiently and with understanding but this was not the case.I ordered the pork clear broth (Tokyo Soy) and received an oil filled bowl of ramen. I took one sip and instantly gagged. This was taken back to the counter immediately and they said that I ordered a oily ramen, and that all ramen is oily, and they couldn’t do anything about it.100% discouraged about this place – as an avid ramen fan, this response was more than disappointing.
We were craving ramen at a not quite lunch and not quite dinner time on our way back from NSW. Unfortunately Muso Ramen at Mermaid Beach wasn’t open, as it was before 6pm. Fortunately, we remembered that there was another Muso Ramen at the Kitchens, with longer opening hours. The stall is tucked away, sort of towards the back of the Kitchens, if you go in their main entrance. If you haven’t been there before, it can be a bit of wandering around. In the early days, they only did chicken based ramen there. Now, however, they do the delicious pork tonkotsu broth there too. As in many other food court type setups, you order and pay at the counter, and are then given buzzers that will vibrate and have flashing lights when your food is ready. Our pork tonkotsu ramen with black garlic didn’t require too much of a wait. The broth was creamy and aromatic, with a lovely sweetness that balanced the savoriness of the meat. The pork slices were tender and had a subtle smokiness. They simply melted in the mouth. The egg had a glossy, gooey yolk, and was perfectly cooked. The thin noodles took up the broth well, and had the right amount of chewiness. When we made our way to this Muso’s, we had initial concerns about whether they would be as good as the branch in Mermaid Beach that we usually frequent. As it turns out, patrons need not worry. Muso’s here or there is still the best ramen around.I’m only docking the 0.5 because in the food court setting, though the Kitchens is modern and nicely done, the setting and atmosphere is more generic.
Nice noodles, I really enjoy the spicy miso. Quite authentic and they make their noodles there everyday fresh. It tastes much better than the frozen noodles other ramen places use. It is one of my favourite plces to eat, please expand!
The best ramen I tasted ever, I am Chinese, that’s why I am quite demanding on noodles, but this one it is really surprising me, I absolutely love it, I love the rich taste of the soup and the noodle seems like hand made. I will came back if visit Gold Coast again.
I have had muso ramen in the Mermaid waters facility, but I have to say, I absolutely hate the one here at Robina. The franchise here has really damaged the title muso ramen. To be blunt and honest the bowl of noodles were small enough on its own but the soup was less than half the bowls inside. The soup barley covered the noodles. So ridicilous. Prices were high and staff members manners were standard quality.
