This is the first time I’ve eaten out in Rockhampton and not been disappointed and also not have to scrape around on the sides and salads part of the menu to try to create a full vegetarian meal. It’s in the prettiest building in town, the customs house (don’t get confused with the old location left derelict on the riverbank opposite). I was convinced the mock duck was identical to actual meat but I haven’t eaten meat for over 15 years and my meat eating friend tells me I’m wrong (but he still enjoyed the dish). One of the few venues in town I’d take guests and not feel I had to make excuses.

Not suited for large groups. Overall a pretty decent dining experience. Went for dinner as a large group of 10-15. Orders for food and drinks were muddled up, and some people were left waiting 20-30minutes longer for their meal than others! Service was so so, food was great but portion sizes between dishes varied greatly – some could not finish and others were left hungry. It was a very humid night and yet staff had half of the fans going? Bizarre. Think it’s better suited to small groups, would not attend again as part of a large group.
