I was craving for a tteokbokki and decided to have it here. They were so generous to give such a big portion with a lot of fish cakes. I love fish cake. The tteokbokki was nicely cooked. Its chewy not too soft. The sauce was also tasty.
Phuong Tran and relatives come here for dinner last week. Mr Bap is one of our favourite Korean BBQ restaurants which we visit several times a year. She orders 3 servings of Pork Belly, 2 servings of Beef, a whole Squid and a small serve of Salmon Sashimi. Everyone had a hand in grilling the meats and squid over hot charcoal so it was an enjoyable dinner. An oddity was the 7 piece Salmon Sashimi which came with 5 pieces and 2 tit-bits. Strange and the Salmon Sashimi should have been sent back to the kitchen.
Have not been back over three years so went to re-visit after work yesterday. Due to the Boxing Day holiday, there were not many restaurants opened in Pineland Shopping Centre but Mr Bap is the exception. Walked in around 5:45pm and it was not yet busy. We were greeted and led to the table at the corner. After perused the menu, we decided to for a la carte not BBQ this time. Ordered the Spicy Beef Rib hot pot, Kim Chi pancakes and a dish of mixed sashimi. Well, size of pancake and the sashimi plate are not that big; importantly, there was not many Kim Chi in the pancake. On the other hand, there was only salmon in the sashimi plate that misled us as we ordered the mixed sashimi. Spicy Beef Ribs (med) was not bad in terms of serving size; however, it cannot compared to the similar type that we had in Daon couple of weeks ago. Overall experience is just average and we would come back for BBQ and hopefully we will have a better impression.Rating 3.5/5Nov 05, 2015 Rating 3.5/5Mr Bap located further down from 88 Topokki in the same shopping centre. Indeed, it is the previous spot of Lee House BBQ. Dined in at one of the Thursday nights and found that there was not much changes neither on the set-up nor the menu. Ordered my favorite BBQ Set and also tried the Pork Spare Ribs with Kimchi. The hot pot was slightly sour but the BBQ set was generous and fresh in quality. I liked them using charcoals for BBQ instead of Infra-red that I saw in some Korean restaurants. Moreover, their free side dishes made me asking the friendly waitress for repeated orders. Overall, thank you for an enjoyable dining experience and I would definitely return to try your other a la carte dishes.
