Tucked in near Coles, this freshly appointed cafe has a fresher take on Thai cuisine. Ambience: clean and comforting. Decor is on the cost side of modern. Service: polite and fairly unobtrusive. Although the waitresses are a little green. Food: Tumeric fried chicken – had a crispy potato starch coating and served with a light sale of red cabbage and sweet chilli sauce. Couldn’t taste the Tumeric but was a delicious dish. Tom Kha soup with prawns – tart and sweet. Bit too sweet for me but nothing that can’t be fixed with a little water. Prawns had a good springy texture but no prawn flavour. A refreshing entree. Pad See Ew with calamari – had a delightful flavour and maybe a small hint of fermented prawn paste in the background. It contained about half a plate of salad in our. And the noodles had just the right texture for my liking. Papaya salad – not bad. Dressing was mild and not to sour or sweet. Would have liked some dried shrimp in it. Verdict: not bad overall. Portion sizes were moderate. Value for money ok. Nothing was particularly outstanding or offensive: would come again.

I couldnt fault The Phat Pantry at all! I had the most delicious Thai Ive had in a while! I had the soft shell crab, Thai fish cakes and a Tom Kha soup to share, all amazing dishes and I would order them over and over again. The unique sodas and teas that The Phat Pantry create are a must try!
