I was having dinner with my partners family and we decided to have some take away Chinese. I’m not the biggest fan of take away Chinese meals, but the meals we got from Hibiscus were very nice. We ordered the special fried rice, a serving of spring rolls, a beef dish and a chicken dish. The meat wasn’t fatty or chewy and the sauce had a great flavour. The spring rolls were perfectly crunchy (a little oily though). The meals came with a bag of prawn crackers for free also. Altogether the prices of the meals were approximately $60.
I love that this restaurant is open on a Monday. It’s hard to get decent takeaway on a monday night! Great menu variety and always tasty.
Pretty good local restaurant. Good food and not expensive price. Plenty of car parks and dinning area for our office annual dinner. Defintely I will be back!
I have eaten Sang chow bow in many restaurants and I’d say Hibiscus makes the worse I have ever tasted. Steer clear.
I agree with several reviews who have mentioned to decent food but lousy service. I was part of a large group for a birthday and 5 of the orders did not arrive until one of us asked what had happened and they had assumed we had all eaten and finished. The food was actually very nice and not too pricey, although $3.50 for a children’s juice box is ridiculous.
Authentic Quizine. After reading all the reviews, I decided to take the family to the Hibiscus to celebrate my fathers 71st birthday, there were 7 of us in total. We went on a Saturday for lunch and there were only two other tables that were occupied, as far as I could tell. Maybe today was just a slow day? On the web page the ‘like’ rating for the Hibiscus wasn’t as high as some of the other Asian restaurants however, the other Asian restaurants weren’t open on a Saturday! All I can say to you is, this place is worth a try. The food was sizzling when it was brought out. Everything was fresh, with generous portions and totally delicious. The staff were very friendly and enjoyed interacting with us, leading to lots of laughter. Every person at the table give two thumbs up. Give it a go. The food alone will not disappoint.
1 hour wait for chicken soup. Our families have been going there for years but we are never going back… service was atrocious… We ordered chicken and sweet corn soup on the phone and were told it would be a 20min wait. We arrived after 25 mins and were told a few more minutes wait. after waiting for another 25 mins there to get my soup I asked for my money back. I even had to wait for them to serve me to get my money back! Our last visit dim sims were frozen in the middle, took ages to get food and had to go up to get someone’s attention to get drinks, I was also served a seafood dish when I asked for a vegetarian one. Never going back. They have lost long term clients!
