Came here for lunch today and had the roast vegetable and dukkah salad. It was a nice idea but the presentation wasn’t great and it wasn’t a very big serving size. It tasted okay. Despite asking to eat here it came in a take-away container with plastic cutlery while others were given metal cutlery.
Be careful if you have allergies!I went here for lunch today and asked the girl what was gluten free as I am gluten intolerant, she informed me that the roast veg wrap was. It didn’t look gf so I double checked but she reassured me that it was. After I tasted it I checked again as it tasted way too nice to be gf. The girl again confirmed and I felt silly! I went on to eat it but towards the end started to feel really sick so I went up and asked to see the packaging for myself and sure enough they WERE NOT GF! The girl reluctantly gave me my money back but it really ruined my whole day as I was so sick that I had to leave South Bank. I am now at home sick in bed where I will be for the next few days.
Rude service. Asked for water and the girl pointed at the bottles and said ‘this water, you get it yourself’ she was literally centimetres away from it, and then she walked off. $10.60 for two coffees? Mmmm not again
Unwelcoming…. Today my friend and I visited a very busy Southbank, we were looking to support a local business for lunch, not a multi national chain…we had four children and a large stoller…although we may have been a little noisy, (the children were behaving), we were made to feel very unwelcomed, because of our stroller and possibly the kids!!! The look on the owners face was horror as we tired to organise ourselves. The owner should not have judged a book by its cover, we would have easily spent $100 for food and drinks between us. She should have also kept in mind NO one else was at her espresso cafe, whilst all the other restaurants around were buzzing. I hope this a lesson learnt in judging a book by its cover Dot Espresso.
Cold, nasty, and you have to make your own Breakfast. Never again! Three of us came for breakfast as not much open on 3rd January. Scrambled eggs were cold as was the omelette. Nothing at all to recommend the place particularly when there is so much choice. One of our party who ordered Poached eggs on toast literally had to build his own meal, eggs came I a frying pan, in uni uttered toast on a plate and cold bacon seperately. No thanks.
Dot. Espresso – South Brisbane. Much like a lot of choices present in the South Bank Parklands, Dot. Espresso is essentially all outside dining and takeaway. It can be said that it is akin on an outside food court. Dot. Espresso is known for its idiosyncratic decorations including a sheep statue. I can only comment so much on this place, just having had a coffee from it. While I was waiting for our lunch orders, my dining buddy noted a new place for coffee and got a couple of cappuccinos to have with lunch. The coffee hear was reasonable and had a decent, if a little lacking, flavour to it. It was robust and well-frothed. Walking back and looking at it, it looks like not a bad place. There must be a good reason for the clientele and they have a simple outlay to it.
Diana. When I spotted a queue here thought I would join on for a quick flat white. After a rather long wait (the markets were on) I eventually received my coffee. Staff were friendly evrything sweet, alas except for my coffee, not saying in any way it was bad, just lacking strength for my taste. Was a very milky cup & the flavour of the coffee couldn’t come through (& there was a definate hint of that flavour in that milk somewhere)
