Revisited of Lost Bean yesterday that reminded me this espresso located next door so gave it a go this morning. Have not been back for over three years, everything keeps consistent. There still have different groups of cyclists gathering here and the coffee is still one of my favourite (love the di MANFRENDI). The differences are: more staff ARE working in the small kiosk and more sitting capacities are available at the al fresco area. Love to see a business is growing. Cheers!Aug 24, 2015 Rating 3.5/5I was so glad that I eventually could arrange the time to try this cafe at Southbank. Every time I go past it, there are always groups of cyclists having coffee there. I rushed in on last Saturday morning and ordered a cup of flat white, it’s taste reminded me that I had tried this brew before. After searching for what brand it is, the answer is di Manfredi which I had that at Suburban Cafe in Greenslope couple of weeks ago. No wonder it so familiar and also why this little coffee hut is so busy.

Came here for an early breakfast before I had to head to a conference, and it was one of the few that opened in Southbank that was before 7am. The staff were quick and friendly, though their menu needed updating price wise, as I was charged 50c more than the menu had state for their iced coffee. I mentioned they needed to update, but I told them it was fine, no need for the extra change, and found myself a table. The atmosphere was pretty friendly, lots of lycra, lots of cyclists enjoying a morning brew at the end of their ride no doubt, plus, lots of retiree-aged folk (this was mid-week).My iced coffee came out, and they even brought me out 50c and apologise, which was really lovely, but they didn’t have to, I mean, its 50c! The breakfast came out not long after, and it was pretty solid for the price. I did enjoy it, though having the butter and pesto combined did mix it up a bit more than I wanted to have it, but I figured it was going to be in my stomach the same eventually so that was okay.Well cooked, friendly staff, relaxing atmosphere. What else do you need for breakfast by the river?
