I was quite disappointed. I had high expectations since the rating was high enough. I asked my friend to have dessert here. I had waffle with chocolate ice cream and my friend had pancake. We both didnt like the texture of the pancake and the waffle. The waffle even tasted worse than the pancake.

Gelre, a bustling place on a Saturday night. They have this great deal, half price on original waffles on a Tuesday. Nothing special about the ambience. Service was straight forward. I had the opportunity to try the strawberries and cream waffle with white chocolate + maple syrup. The waffle itself was decent however, the elements on the dish was imbalanced. Even though the acidity of strawberries attempted to neutralise the sweetness of the dish, the white chocolate in combination with the maple syrup was overpowering. Thus, the simplicity and taste of the waffle was lost. My company had mango and vegan chocolate gelato and stated it was good, even better than the dairy option. (Note: She is not vegan, just a lover of good food. She is extremely picky in regards to her gelato.) I am looking to come back here to try out the gelato they have and the basic waffle without all that jazz. Overall, an average experience.
