I was invited to dine here. My friend and I came for a luch. We both were pleased with the ambience. It was cozy. I had caesar salad with calamari (AUD15+5). The fact that they used fresh ingredients satisfied me. It makes me enjoy the food. 4/5My friend also loved her beef nachos. She would rate it 4/5All in all, it was an enjoyable lunch. Thanks little big house!
We were invited to dine here and chose to come for a casual weekend lunch. Little Big House is right outside Southbank train station and overlooks Grey Street. It’s a gorgeous venue with a lovely dining area and plenty of little rooms to get lost in. It’s so nicely laid out and decorated, it provided plenty for our little one to look at and keep him entertained! My husband was very impressed with the craft beer tap selection. He’s a hard man to please so this got a big tick of approval right away! The menu is small but very tasty and reasonably priced. For lunch, my husband chose steak cooked medium rare with pepper sauce, chips and salad. It was all tasty with a great peppery sauce, however the steak wasn’t medium rare, more on the medium side. Not a huge deal as it was still a good cut of meat. I chose the rotisserie pork belly with roasted vegetables. It came with gravy, apple sauce, the veges and chips. I think I would have preferred to swap out the chips for something green as there were also potatoes in the veges and it was all a bit too much towards the end. Something green would have been welcomed on the plate. The gravy was only ok, the veges were tasty and the apple sauce was nice with a good texture. The pork belly was definitely the star of the dish, as you’d expect. The meat was delicious, juicy and tender, and the skin was super crispy. I really enjoyed this element of the dish but think overall, it could do with a few tweaks to make the dish as a whole excellent.I can see that this would be a great venue for a meal and kicking on for drinks afterwards, great for groups and Christmas parties. It’s got good vibes, good food, great drinks and a terrific atmosphere – definitely check it out. Thank you to the Little Big House team for having us! lifelovetravelfood.wordpress.com
