Good Accommodation, great meals and excellent entertainment. Apparantly new owners have taken over this Toowoomba Hotel in late 2013. I stayed at the Shamrock for a week while working in Toowoomba recently and could not fault the place, apart from the renovations which are taking place.I heard some worrying stories about the last owners of the Shamrock Hotel in the short time that I was there but the new people look like they are addressing everything with the Accommodation rooms all being refurbished inside and outside. The inside of the pub is also getting a facelift, with a new TAB, Gaming Room and I think they said something about a night club. The meals were excellent and reasonably priced for the quality of the food and service. I ate there every night, and partied on in the bar afterwards where they had Karaoke and Live Music. Can’t say enough good about the place really and will definitely stay at the Shamrock Hotel next time I am in Toowoomba.

Professionals on lunch beware. I used to regularly eat at The Shamrock until earlier this year when they were put into administration as I work in the same neighbourhood.I would order a range of dishes, but the chicken parmagiana was my regular.Strangely enough, before the shut down I was always pleased with the speed, the service and the food they dished up. After the enforced shut-down they brought the $14 price tag down to $5 and the quality of food, speed and service plummetted with the price.Eventually they raised the meal price to $7 and improved the quality slightly, but if you’re a professional looking for somewhere to get a reasonable meal for a reasonable price in your lunch break, it may be best to avoid these guys now. I just returned from lunch after waiting a few minutes short of half an hour for my basic meal. Also, when it arrived, the schnitzel was bordering on burnt, while the chips were so pale and soggy they looked like they may have been pulled straight from the freezer and thrown in a microwave. This admittedly only the third time I have eaten there since the new management took over, but two burned schnitzels and two plates of soggy chips has ensured it will be the last.
