Took the advantage of DIMMI 50% off food bill to have dinner at this restaurant. We did not take the buffet but ordered a la carte. Service is passionate but the bar let us down due to the missing of our drink order. Although the lovely waitress offers us the juice on the house, it is too impressive to have the drink after we have finished our entrees. Well, entrees seem to be the heroes this time; despite the fact that the Charred Smokey Bone Marrow just is just average, the calamari gains marks back. Let down is on those two mains. Striploin fillet is marinated and pre-tenderised, which ruins the freshness of the protein. The mushroom sauce is just like creamy sauce without taste of mushroom. The New Zealand Lamb Rack is not at prime grade, which is too rare and the skin fat is just too greasy. Importantly, the chef mixes up the side, where he accompanied both mains with chips not the lamb rack with roast vegetables and the striploin fillet with chips. Overall standard seems under the par…..Jun 12, 2015 Rating 4/5Locating in Brisbane Marriott Hotel, I have been dined in this restaurant a few times. Ambience, service are all good. Most of the time, I dine in with deals from Groupon or Living Social and they welcome you just like other diners. That is very important because it reflects how good is the management and how professional is the wait-staff. The only comment is the parking problem and quite often I have to park in the Secure Parking located at Eagle Street which is quite a long walk. I recommend this restaurant to other foodies, the trick is that they always run promotions via deals so keep your eyes on it.

Went here for a mid-week date night dinner, with the added advantage of the 50% off Dimmi offer. It was a very quiet evening for the restaurant, so we felt extra-special.We ordered wines and then the ‘Nduja Garlic Bread’ to share as a starter. The spicy sausage spread was enticing, and the toasty bread pieces were hot and aromatic. For mains, we had the ‘Bumbu Marinated Chicken’, which was well-cooked with Asian greens and a top-notch spicy sambal. We also ordered the ‘Jack’s Creek Short Ribs’, which was a definite highlight – a generous portion of absolutely tender short ribs, lovely smooth puree and a side salad with a kick if horseradish.Smart ambience. Friendly and efficient service (although we were the only guests there at the time, so we had full attention). The Dimmi offer was well worth it – drinks not included.Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Motion Dining (although we acknowledge that there were special circumstances, i.e. Dimmi discount and sole diners). Recommend the short ribs.
