Explored this espresso this morning. Nice lay out that provides you the comfy vibe while you are enjoying the morning coffee. Elixir brew is one of my favourite and the pouring skill of the barista is above average. I ordered the bacon, egg & avo with white bun; however it comes out just a toasted roll and obviously the bread is not white. Importantly, it makes me very hard to eat with the avo continuously squeezing out of the bread (it is a mess). If it is possible, I prefer to use the knife and fork. Am I stubborn? Lol !

I was super happy with the service from the young girl who served me at around lunch time today. Not only friendly but it was really genuine and had a wee chat with me. I dont know if she could tell I had just had a really hard time, but she made my day. The toasted sandwich thing I had was delicious, so fresh, so much flavour.Best one Ive had in a very very long time. I even ate the crust. That never happens

The coffee at Pikolo is smooth and flavoursome. The first time I tried it I was really excited as the coffee was just the right temperature to be drunk immediately. The plum jam donuts taste heavenly and is just what you need to get through those tough afternoons at work. I had high hopes of making Pikolo my regular cafe but this was dampened the second time I went there during my lunch break. There were two people at the counter who I assumed were customers chatting to the owner as they were waiting for their orders so I waited patiently behind them. Although they were aware I was there (they had turned around and saw me) they continued chatting and it turned out they were not waiting for anything and were purely having a conversation. They eventually shuffled off to the other window while my order was taken and then they continued to chat to the owner. The fact that the owner and their friends made me wait while they had their conversation was very off-putting which disappoints me as I really liked the coffee there but I don’t see myself returning again any time soon.

There is nothing worse than paying for a takeaway coffee, walking up the street with it, tasting it, and realising that they’ve made your soy latte on cows milk, and you’re lactose intolerant and have to throw it away. Poor form.

Pikolo Espresso Bar – Spring Hill, Brisbane. A couple of small walk-up windows, plus a few small tables just outside and that is about it to this little espresso bar in Spring Hill. On the ground floor of a building, the jutting out section – which is a kitchen – has been transformed into one of the several local watering holes. Great places have often come in small packages, and this is no exception. With a lot of office places close by, and the chronic, epidemic need for a coffee not going away with the workers anytime soon, the outlay of customer area is erudite and efficient. Walk up to one window with your cash, make a decision and even peruse the menu and sweets tray if you so please, pay and then wait a couple of minutes. It is ready, and you can go on your way; no pesky door ways to worry about. Along the way, the people there are very pleasant and make it worthwhile going. The coffee they use is Elxiir, and this is one of the better blends to use. In most hands, it results in an enjoyable and flavoursome cup of coffee. That was as such right here, ordering a large coffee to go – it was a cappuccino that consisted of three shots of espresso. It was tasty, had a moderate strength in its flavour, was not bitter and the milk and foamed were well extracted and textured – this was a good cup of coffee to start off work with. On the side, I decided to get a danish; it seemed to be an apricot one. The danish was pretty sizable; it even was a decent snack cut in half between two people. The pastry was flaky, not too buttery or greasy, and there was a moist texture throughout it along with the flavours of apricot. The apricots in the danish felt like real apricots and not dried. Alongside a cup of coffee, it was tasty. Pikolo Espresso has got some good days ahead. While it may be somewhat new now, quite a few people were already lining up for their orders. This is something to be optimistic about.
