Noticed Two Donkeys as I was passing through Spring Hill area. Dropped in for a quick coffee & a muffin. Actually couldn’t resist the muffin when I saw it in the cabinet as it was piled high with some sort of crispy topping which resembled a mountain. Turned out to be a triple choc number & was quite delish. Coffee was OK could have been hotter, but quite a flavor
Overall: Check it out for a lazy brunch or coffee with friends. Reasonably priced, tasty food, friendly service, nice interior. Will be back for more food. Score: 4/5Ordered: Latte w/almond milkThoughts: Very sweet tasting coffee despite not adding any sugar. This is not my preference as I almost always avoid sugar in coffee however the coffee still had a good creamy texture which can be difficult to achieve with almond milk.Score: 3/5Ordered: Roast beef rollThoughts: Simple but tasty where the hero is the caramelised onion infusing each bite with a sweet but tangy flavour that is well matched with the cheese and rocket. The roast beef tastes like a support act against the other flavours. Score: 4.2/5Interior: Some modern looking homewares and decor makes this feel like a relaxing place to spend a morning with friends. Whoever runs this place is putting as much love into it as their budget will allow. Score: 4/5Service: Friendly enough and acknowledged us quickly. Score: 4/5BONUS: The pastries here look incredible and if it was cheat day I’d probably get one.
Fantastic coffee. Really enjoyed the double shot piccolo I ordered. Strong, although not bitter. Definitely looking forward to my next coffee here.
Place has potential. I’ve only been there few times for a coffee Great location and a very cozy and trendy fit out. Great meeting place and I’ll definitely go there again. Can’t comment on food as I haven’t had it.
One of the best of value breakfast I’ve had in a long time. The pear, prosciutto and goats cheese bruschetta was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Even the gluten free toast felt part of the experience as opposed to usually it just being a menu swap out for fussy people. My coffee whilst not presented well was also good.I definitely recommend this place. $17 total for what I’d consider a gourmet experience.
It’s a fabulous new cafe in spring hill area. Liked the breakfast choices. Also the interior is good and a cool place to be. Service was good and fast.
Working in the Spring Hill area, there isn’t much variety for breakfast and lunch so I was very excited to hear Two Donkeys was opening up next to the Novotel. Upon entering the cafe staff were friendly and service was prompt. The almond croissant was okay (to be honest, I was disappointed as I had had a much better one from another cafe the week before). The coffee was good and came out quickly. Will be returning soon to try the rest of the menu.
