So desperate felt like Indian tonight and really didn’t want to go out. I jumped on menu log and decided to give Gateway of India a go. I’m so glad I did. We had a few dishes to share and we all agree absolutely authentic and flavoursome food. The lamb vindaloo (although I would have preferred it hotter) was full of flavour and the lamb just melted in your mouth. The chicken saagwala oh my was sooo yummy, the lamb madras wow and the beef Roganjosh was good too (not my favourite but others in the family loved it). So happy we have found our new Indian restaurant. I was so impressed I called the manager to let him know how good it was (I have never done this before)
Had a Groupon dinner at this place for quite a while but forgot to write the review. Remember it was sometime last year and I had the same feeling as commented by Diana (review below) that I did not realise that it is so close to my house. Located at the prime position at the front entrance of Springwood Tower, it was so easy to find this restaurant. When we stepped in, we were friendly greeted by the staff and their attitude made me very comfortable to enjoy my dinner. The deal offered us mixed entre for two, 2 x mains, naan and rice. I have to say that their food were all above average, particularly the Basmati rice looked so crystal clear that it was a perfect match with the Butter Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo. I have to say thank to the manager who allowed us to change the plain naan to Punjabi Naan (Spinach & Cheese) by just paying extra few dollars. The naan was so tasteful and also went perfect with the butter and vindaloo sauce. Overall, it was a decent dining experience.
My partner and I had dinner at Gateway of India last night. We didn’t make a reservation but the restaurant wasn’t overly busy, so we got a table straight away. All the food on the menu is very well priced and not on the expensive side. We ordered meat samosas, Shish kebab, beef Korma curry and a garlic and cheese naan bread to share. The samosas and Shish kebab were delightful! So much flavour packed into those entrees, the Korma on the other hand wasn’t the best I’ve had- the sauce had flavour but it was missing something and the nan bread was tasted to an inch of its life. All in all the meal cost $42 so we can’t complain, we would come again to try a few other meals.
If you’re ever thinking of Indian….there’s no better place than this. Love the vibe, customer service and most importantly the food. Loved it so much we’re booking our next function there!
Found this place through Groupon. Very pleased that I did.Not only were the staff very friendly and helpful the decor was nice and the service prompt. As for the food, well no complaints here what so ever.Mixed entree (pictured) was fresh and full of flavour. The perfect entree for two people to share. The mains also delicious with a very nice touch having the curry kept hot by way of a tea light candle burning underneath.I have to say the chicken madras was delicious nice flavours without smacking you in the face with heat much to my delight. The rice was okay and the naan bread fresh and fluffy.Definitely will be back time and again.
Was tempted here by a groupon deal. Actually didn’t know this place was even here! So sometimes it is good to grab coupons when available as it is a cost effective way of sampling restaurants one would not even think of trying. First of all the wait staff were really accommodating & made us feel at home. The samosas were of special note due to actual size (large)flaky & delicious. My Alu Gobi was also good with a delicate blend of spices as was the pilau rice. The naan breads were as we like them with burnt edges & fluffy
Excellent Indian food. Best we have ever had in Brisbane. Plenty of tender lean meat in lovely sauces. We went on a scoopon voucher. Staff were friendly caring and courteous. We will return for sure.
