Won’t go wrong with a chicken karage. Probably the best and most popular dish here. At a economical price of 9.90. They put too much mayo..so ask for less. And it needs more rice. The amount of chicken can vary though. A must go for uq students especially on late night dinner or weekend lunch after a session of studying. make sure you pop in the IGA next door to get some cashout first. there is no eftpos

I often visit Misushi to get some Karaage chicken, it’s super tasty and very reasonably priced. I usually just get takeaway as the dining area is quite small. But yeah great food!

Chicken Karaage is consistently great, and perhaps the best one I’ve ever had in Brisbane. The prices are very affordable and the serving size is good. Just a tad inconvenient that they do not have a eftpos machine, which means that I have to withdraw money beforehand. Overall, great food.

This place is seriously good. I’ve been twice and tried 2 different bento boxes and some sides. All good. The chicken skewers are insanely tasty. And the spicy bento box is great if you like a bit of heat.

Misushi – St. Lucia, Brisbane. There are a range of eating options just a block away from the university campus, with enough of a range to satisfy the indecisive diners. Most of these are relatively cheap – sometimes a little more pricey – and can have enough of a distinct decor inside. Then there are places which are basically holes in the wall and Mi Sushi is exactly that kind of place. You can take it for what it is, and be surprised at the qualilty. The decor is as close to bare-bones as you can get; there are a few tables inside and outside which indicates that this place is more for take-away. That is part of the experience, the charm and ultimately the convenience of the place. In defense, to make up for it there is generous menu with everything under $10; that should work a charm for poor students. There is even sushi available – though from a look into the cabinet it is a bit monotonous; having variety in a half dozen is probably preferable. While in no financial strife myself, I chose this place on a busy day because of the convenience before a night class. For a place that was being described, the service is fairly inverse to what would be expected when I went. The counterboy was really attentive and friendly. It takes just being a few steps away from the counter to be acknowledged. From here I ordered the chili chicken teriyaki don. This actually tasted pretty fresh – and I could see the kitchen from the table, in which many onions were being sliced throughout. The serving was really generous here, with tender chicken and a good spice mixture throughout. There was the right amount of rice, sauce and meat to mix around and not leave much behind. Ergo, that is another aspect this place has going for it – a fresh taste and feel. As it was said before, Mi Sushi is certainly far from sophisticated. However, it does everything it needs to do and will certainly be a fall-back option when I am in the neighbourhood again.
