We stopped in here on another recommendation for what was promised to us as amazing, famous pies. The bread and bakery items looked wonderful and it’s clear Zest is a local and tourist hot spot with most tables filled and not much left in the food cabinets. My husband chose the short rib beef pie and had a plain steak pie. Both were really fantastic. Great pastry, delicious, generous meat filling and ACTUAL meat (unlike some unidentifiable meat pies on the market!) It’s not cheap but they’re worth it. Yum!
Been here twice & talked to countless others that have been here. Moroccon Lamb Pie 6.5-7/10 (80% pastry, 20% meat. Pastry was flakey & nice but you didn’t get much filler at all really. I like my pies meaty with thick pastry on the outside. This was good but was so flakey & not much meat. My friends have all said the same after a few visits)Almond Croissant 9.85/10 (best croissant I’ve ever had. Insane flavour. Only thing that would make it better is having more of it even though there is no issues with the size of it & it being taller to. Other than that a flawless croissant – there is a reason they have them sitting there on the bench on top of everything – get it. My friends all had same consensus with croissant after a few visits)
Best almond croissants in Australia! And the coffee was good: dark-roasted and strong. The service wasn’t the friendliest, but oh my goodness, the pastries really do transport you to a little corner of Europe.
Had a curry beef pie for brekkie before braving Girraween National Park, so glad I had that pie it kept me going and going! The pie was so delicious and the pastry was so flaky! Very friendly service too!
