Have not been back to this Caf Queen @ Stones Corner after the new face-lifted. Stepped in this morning and the ambience gave me a elegance and upgrade feeling. Service is attentive. Ordered a flat white and the Egg Bene with Smoked Salmon. Coffee came to the table with reasonable timeframe. It was well presented and strength was good but taste was not my favourite but it is just personal preference. Next came the Egg Benedict. Wow! It looks spectacular with two large egg on top of the bed made of smoked salmon & spinach. Bread at the bottom is soft, which earns my appreciation. Egg is done perfect and portions of smoked salmon and spinach are generous. Overall, it is not a bad start of the day, thanks for the team!Rating jumps to 4.5/5Aug. 14, 2015 Rating 3.5/5Had morning coffee and breakfast at this place yesterday. Coffee was made so rustic and slightly burnt without coffee art, however, it was strong enough to wake me up. Atmosphere was good for breakfast and I loved the fruit toast that they prepared, particularly the freshly prepared jams. Staffs were so energetic and friendly except the chef was a bit too cool without smile. Overall experience not bad, I would be back.
I didnt choose the baby chino life, the baby chino life chose me. And on this day, a day of firsts, the baby chino life chose my daughter. She loved it. I still think theyre silly. But this meal was always going to remain in the memory bank, regardless. Thankfully, the rest of the dishes added to the experience. The mushroom/lentil burger was a revelation, with better texture than most beef patties. The fritters were fresh, filling, with just the right hit of citrus. For $10, the kids bacon and eggs is overpriced, and a Pacific Ale is not a Twisted Palms (though I didnt have the heart to say anything). However, the servers were helpful and all smiles, and we left feeling pretty good about things.
A great local cafe in the Stones Corner area with an interesting menu with a twist. The space was big & open, bright & quite relax, perfect for a girls catch up over some lunch. The serving sizes definitely won’t leave you hungry. My LM Gringo waffle had a Mexican flavour, it was very heavy duty with beef, chorizo, cheese, avocado, black beans salsa, sour cream & topped with a fried egg. All of the different elements magically just works together. My friend got the waffle on the special list, the confit duck with chilli cornbread. Also topped with a fried egg, it was served with sweet maple & chilli sauce, so an interesting bland of sweet & savoury. My other friend also enjoyed her souffl, quite fluffy. The service were friendly, we were taking our time chatting over coffees, not realising they were ready to close, but they didn’t try to hurry us out or make it really obvious they were packing up. Definitely worth a return visit.
Unique menu but done perfectly. Cauliflower rice with poached eggs was light but filling. Hubby had the mince on waffle toast. He loved it. Their coffee was good too.
Nice big venue in renovated old building, service is professional and capable. Breakfast was solid and good quality, not overly exciting but a lot better than average.
Delicious food, great service, good pricing & a lovely atmosphere. I love that you can split the bill as well. I had pancakes with maple syrup, lemon curd, strawberries, cream, ice cream & fairy floss.
