Sunday lunch of succulent charcoal grilled chicken! Walking into Robyns we see plump whole chickens and spicy splayed-open chickens rotating above a bed of red hot charcoal. A wonderful sight and I say to Paul Chan that this is the way they roast chickens in Heaven. Owner Hai who has run this Lebanese Cafe for 3 years informs me that his chickens are not frozen but are supplied fresh daily. And his roast chickens are cooked 100% over charcoal, not in the oven first then finished off over charcoal. I notice the Kebabs and Lebanese Desserts; Baklava, Nutroll and Numoura are popular takeaway items. We sit down to a lunch of a Spicy Chicken and Chips ($18). The splayed-open Chicken is basted with secret Lebanese Herbs and Spices. It is delicious with a twist of lemon and the hot chips are great! I love Nandos Chicken but this is the best Roast Chicken in Brisbane!
