Incompetent staff who don’t care enough to try and rectify the problem when brought to their attention. Very average food. Gave it a second chance and will not be back.

Really yummy food. I enjoy the haloumi stack. You get a huge meal for your buck. Coffee is yummy. Staff are always friendly and heaps of seating so you can always get a table. I’ve been back multiple times.

Dined here on a quiet rainy Sunday. Whilst the food and service were fine. Nothing to write home about and in all honesty, the pizza was missing ingredients that were listed, yet still charged extra to add jalapeos. Go figure. Some of the wait staff also have interesting and slightly too quirky personalities for the company I attended with. Probably wouldn’t go back unless there was absolutely no other choice in the area.

Just had a burger and fries!Pretty cheap and pretty good taste.Had to ask for sauce for the chips buy that is not a biggie.Nice service and not a long wait.12.5% Surcharge for public holiday stung a bit too but again, it’s not a biggie.I’d go back again.

Good value for money and excellent service for breakfast. Very simple and quiet. Worth the visit. Big breakfast and avocado stack with two coffees and two juices for about $67. Not bad!!

Unfortunately there’s only 1 thing wrong with Suburban – but its a big one in that it’s the wife of the owner who wouldn’t be able to provide good service if you paid her for it … hang on… wait a minute!!I have sung its praises for years as living and working close by its always been a go to with the best breaky stacks around (and decent non breaky options). I’ve continued to amend my favorite meals as the menu has changed with changing chefs over and over and over again (starting to see a trend right?).The wait staff have always been a pleasure to deal with, perky and helpful – until the other day when the wife came and started taking orders. And so came the beginning of the end. I advised that I wanted to change the ‘Tassie stack’ to return it to the ‘salmon stack’ they used to have which meant adding hollandaise and spinach (which I’m agreeably charged for). And let’s be fair here, EVERYTHING is better with hollandaise!’Well the chef changed the menu”I know, that’s why I’ve asked to modify it in the past”Well I’ll have to ask him because its his menu now and its changed”OK but I’ve been able to do it before so I’m not sure why it would be an issue now?”I’ll speak with the chef’Funnily enough the ‘chef’ said that they would no longer accommodate the change. I wanted to leave immediately but my dining companion was only a few sips into her coffee so fine, let’s go fritters…Fast forward a half hour and viewing others who came after us getting their food we signal to check what the hold up might be. ‘So sorry, there was a mix up in the kitchen but we’re getting on that right now’ says the regular wait staff – coincidence…?More time passes, meals arrive – not fritters but corn pancakes and dry ones at that! Inedible! It’s hard not connect terrible service and meals to the attitude spray that was received when asking to modify a dish. So sad to leave with such a bad taste after many many problem free meals. Some people are not cut out to work in hospitality – I am not one of them – and neither is she! It’s clearly visible in the numerous negative reviews solely directed at her. I’ve seen the change over of chefs + menus, reduced operating hours, neighbouring cafes bustling while this one chills with empty seats. I didn’t order the side of ego and attitude that I was served and its not the first time after dealing with her briefly at the counter on many occasions in the past. As much as I have loved the place she has overshadowed it all with her behaviour and another customer has been lost as a result.
