Ordered the grilled octopus, tom yum and kway teow Taste : 9/10Didnt really like the barramundi spring roll though. Been to many thai restos and i really liked Siam Orchid!! Highly recommended thai resto. Its just 10 minutes drive from cairns city.
We had dinner here with my family and friends, the food were good but we were surprised when we were paying our bills that we were charged $21 for a medium bowl of steamed rice!!! When we asked that guy cashier at the counter about it he said that its $3.50/person but we were 6 and we saw that on the other table they were 4 persons and they were given the same bowl size of rice..they didn’t even inform us about it and come on who will pay for $21 for a medium size bowl of steamed rice!!! It was more expensive than my main course the massaman beef curry which is only $19!! And when I asked that guy cashier for a receipt he made some erasures in some of my food orders that’s why he was hesitant in giving me receipts its just that I did insist it in giving me one. I am not going back there and definitely will tell my family and friends about their scam because I am sure this is not the first time they have done this!!!
Local. I eat here fairly regularly – the food is fantastic. The yellow curry is my favourite and the flavours are amazing. I love Asian food so have eaten it a lot – this is the best all round restaurant I have been to.
I’m unsure about the experience Mark had on the 20th Dec, but I was there that night and the staff were fantastic as always, and the food was superb as always (I had 1 choo chee fish and the panang!). Yes, there were families enjoying themselves, and it was a busy night, and I think the staff were doing their best with a happy demeanor. Maybe Mark should stick to MacDonalds if he likes their service (what tha?)
This restraunt has gone down hill. I hadn’t eaten at this restaurant for a while, sadly it has gone down hill from what it used to be.The food is good, but I have had better service at Mc Donalds!!! Really we were just a number and I doubt they even knew we were there, except to pay the bill. I also don’t think it is a good idea to have two 3 year old children screaming and running around in the restaurant at 9pm at night either, or am I just being fussy!!? I go out for dinner to get away from this.I could forgive the kids, but can’t forgive the rude staff, there is better Thai food in Cairns and certainly better service, which is sad as I used to really enjoy this restaurant, I wont be in a hurry to go back.
Having been here multiple times, it is somewhere I like to return to again and again. There’s quite a wide range of menu choices, the food tastes delicious, and service is prompt and just the right level (not overbearing and not neglectful). There’s no rush to leave after finishing either, in comparison to a lot of other Asian restaurants I’ve eaten at. All in all, highly recommended.
Nice Local. Used to go here not infrequently. Good service. Baked whole fish is lovely, though not cheap. Nice outdoor, undercover seating area. If only the company had been as good 😉
