This cafe is confusing. It functions as a cafe and then a deli, but in my opinion does neither justice. Expensive take home frozen deli meals, meats, pasta, sauces etc, and the sub- par coffees, breakfasts and snacks for dining in. Good for cyclists on route to elsewhere.
I have been coming to the Stratford Deli for years. I’ve always received lovely service and the food there is really yum. Never dissapointed!
I spent a week in the area (visiting from North America) and the first morning I was up very early from the jetlag so I went strolling looking for some coffee. I ended up coming back every day I was there. I absolutely loved the coffee and breakfast options. I could eat the smoked salmon (with capers, onions, and Camembert) every day. Can’t wait to go back someday.
Good out of the way place from Cairns. Good food for a deli, plenty of choice for food. Coffee is OK and a cool courtyard at the back. I’ve been there a few of times. I had the quiche and roast pumpkin salad, another time chicken pie with salad and cous cous with lasagne. I would recommend it. Oh, I did have the pecan pie as an afternoon tea – yum!

Great Vego Options. I love the food here, the coffee used be a bit crap but it’s pretty yum at the moment. Good vego food too!
Shame about the consistently terrible coffee, because the vibe, location and lots of the food options are pretty good. Why not make better coffee in smaller cups?
