Worst pork ribs I have ever eaten. It was so dry and over cooked that I was having trouble cutting it off the bones. The coleslaw was not fresh, it was dry with no mayonnaise and very runny looking. I asked for my chips to be well done and instead I got soggy chips. For $38 for pork ribs, waste of money and would never recommend trying this dish. The coleslaw had walnuts but this was not mentioned in the menu – why in the world would you put walnuts on top of coleslaw and what if I had a nut allergy?

Second time there for a steak & both times over cooked & rubbery. I don’t know how else to say ”medium well please” in anymore plainer English. At $30 a pop I won’t be back to try anything else. Service staff need to be more on the ball. 100% better steaks & service & half the price @ The Junction Hotel!

We came for lunch today and the was unable to be eaten we will not be returning The staff was more interested in putting parsley on the food then serving us. Even the soda water was gross. Some of the options of food was under cooked and the bread was uncooked and they were in a bag The meat was dry and chewy and the had no flavour. Out of the whole lunch all we were to have is my lemon lime and bitters. Over years the food has slowly gone down hill. Have spoken to a few people and they will not be returning as well.

As early diners on a Tuesday evening we were treat to prompt and friendly service. My Guinness pie was tasty, and there was plenty of it. The mashed potatoes tasted as if they might have been reheated. My wife’s coral trout was OK, but seemed to be over cooked. We both ordered house wines by the glass – my Shiraz was $8, and my wife’s moscato $10. You can buy whole bottles of these wines for $10. When I discussed this with the restaurant manager, he sympathised with me but said he just followed his Directors’ instructions. I don’t think we’ll go back.

I went to dinner at The Calamvale Hotel a few nights ago with my friends and we all had a great meal. We hadn’t been to the renovated part of the hotel, even though it had been open for a few years now, but it was worth going. The renovations and the pub was stylish yet has an open air bar vibe. I had the lamb shanks for dinner ( absolutely perfect) and my friends had a steak and the creamy garlic prawns on rice. All the meals were great and while we were there we found out the hotel does a high tea! Will will be back for dinner and a high tea.

Had a bad oyster , horrible lobster . Was sick for the rest of the night . Friendly service , over priced for bad food . Will never eat there again

Not sure why there’s so much hate for this place. Do Brissy people really have such high expectations for a suburban pub? It’s not Vue De Monde! I’ve eaten here twice after staying in the hotel for business. Both times the food has been absolutely top quality. Really surprised me given the location. For those saying they can’t get the meat right, see the attached pic! Definitely recommend.
