Last night, I was late to finish all the tasks at work and I felt very hungry when I drove near the Calamvale Central Shopping Centre, so I drove straight in the car park and went to foragingmy dinner. Walked in the shopping centre and the first shop on the right was this Japanese eatery. It looked like not a really authenticJapanese food store but I was so hungry and did not care about it as long as the food is edible.I looked at what they had but there were only a few sushi left so I asked the owner if I could order the udon. He wasvery passionate and promised to make me one within 10 minutes so I ordered a pork wonton udon (Hey! This place must adopt the menu from Chinese restaurant in Japan, a wonton udon? Japanese food?). The owner did not let me down. He made me the udon within 10 minutes and gave me a can of soft drink as the bonus of their promo. Then I walked to the only other side of the centre and took a seat outside the Woolworth to start my food journey. Surprise! The broth was very tasteful and hot. Wonton was fresh and juicy. Udon was well done. I told myself, this must be an illusion for just $10.00. Well, who care if it is Japanese food or not!
The sushi here do not taste very fresh, especially the salmon rolls. The tempura rolls are not of a good quality either – it seemed to be drenched in oil and tasted very greasy. The sushi are also slightly more expensive than the other stores on the opposite side of the road. The employees are friendly however.
