September 2018New owners and chefs took over this restaurant 3.5 months ago. We walk in on a Friday evening to this bustling restaurant and having decided on a steak dinner on our drive to Sunnybank, we place our orders for 2 Wagyu Rump Steaks. * Phuong Trans Medium Wagyu Rump Steak is nicely grilled. She says the Steak has little fat content and is not tender or juicy like her previous steaks here. She rates her meal 3/5.* My Medium Rare Wagyu Rump Pepper Steak looks like a tiny off-cut from a whole rump and is a much smaller steak. I soon have difficulty cutting through the gristle. I explain to the senior waitress that this steak is not only tiny but is poorly trimmed. She apologises and asks the Chef to replace my meal. * My replacement meal is served after 20 minutes. The Wagyu Rump Steak is nicely cooked to medium rare. Unlike all the Wagyu Rump Steaks I have eaten, this steak has little fat content and is quite tough. I rate my meal 3/5. On hindsight, I wonder if we were actually served genuine fresh Wagyu Steaks. This has been my favourite steak restaurant in Brisbane for over a decade but I can no longer recommend these steaks!I order a coffee and I get served the worst poured Cappuccino in many years. No respectable Barista would serve such an unattractive coffee. We visit Cafe Les Amoureux 4-5 times a year. After this poor meal, we may not return to this once highly rated restaurant. Sadly, my overall rating drops from a previous high of 4.5 to 2.5/5.0!
