Been coming to this little store since I was a kid and I thought it’ll be nice to relive some memories. I have always enjoyed their selection of Taiwanese breakfast foods which include Congee, Pancakes w/ Shallots, Baos, Sticky Rice Buns, Dumplings, Fried Noodles and more. The food is taken directly from the bain marie, perhaps this is a way to prevent customers from waiting too long. I noticed a number of customers grabbing it as take away and leaving, not very much dine-in. I had a bit time so I decided to dine-in, ordering their good old Oyster Noodles with a cup of Soy Milk. The Oyster Noodles contained a nice thickened broth. The noodles were soft (some places serve chewier noodles) but this one was still good. On top, we have some pig intestines. I was a tad disappointed because there used to be pig intestines mixed with the noodles, but I guess now they only use it as a garnish. In my opinion, it didn’t taste as good compared to what it used to taste like. The colour of the intestines was darker than usual. Normally they are much lighter in colour and they look fresher (taste fresher too). Unfortunately, today I wasn’t served that quality. My soy milk was served warm, I asked if I could get it hot but the staff said they only had warm ones (all the soy milk were already prepared in a sealed plastic cup).Service is fast here, I could come back for their dumplings!!
I’ve enjoyed breakfasts and lunches for many years at this tiny little food bar tucked away (almost hidden!) to the side of the Welcome Fresh Supermarket. I love the beef roll here, which is a shallot pancake/paratha wrapped around beef strips, cucumber and more shallots. I always ask them to ensure that the pancake/paratha is crispy. Dipped in some chilli oil with chilli flakes, the beef roll is very moreish. They also serve bao, fried dumplings, radish cakes, noodles, drinks and a offer a few meat and veg rice combos from their bain maries. All in a tiny, unobtrusive space. Their offerings are reasonably tasty and definitely inexpensive. An archetypal Sunnybank experience.
Love this place! Even though it’s food served out of a bain marie, it’s still delish! I think the soy milk is made on premise. If this is your first time, I’d highly recommend the beef roll. it’s thin slices of beef wrapped in a spring onion pancake – for $3.90… I’m still full 5 hours later after spending $15 for two people on brunch.
Love this place!. Good cheap, quick lunch. 1 meat and 3 choices of veggies. Can’t go wrong here. Wish they were open for dinner!
Their drinks are one of the best around the sunnybank area. Quick efficient and safe (as in guarantee not disgusting).
Addicted. Probably my most visited breakfast please in Brisbane. Very close to traditional Taiwan breakfast and lunch. cheap, fast, open early, Taiwanese atmosphere – what more could you want!! Great job guys.
In this place, saying no to the pork belly and spicy egg plant is not possible. I like a bargain. Thus my path to morbid obesity is paved with pork belly and balanced with egg plant. At least I will die happy.
