Had the Hainanese Chicken Rice (HCR) here with my friend (who is a regular). As someone who is from China and has a high standard for Chinese food, I believe that Kingsfood does a really decent HCR. The chicken is steamed to perfection, and the sauces that come with it are authentic. The cucumber is prepared traditionally, and they have made a decent attempt to replicate the rice. It should be cooked using chicken stock or chicken fat, but I think this was only done with very very diluted stock as there was only a slight chicken flavour. The rice itself was also a bit undercooked. Finally, the soup that came with it was the soup of the day rather than the usual soup you get with HCR. Still the best I’ve found in Brisbane so far, though!
