A nice KBBQ place that is located in a pretty quiet area, which is ideal if you want to escape the busy Sunnybank area. I had the premium wagyu set, which is pretty solid for the price.
We meant to explore the 6 Po Hot Pot last night. Unfortunately, we did not expect that it would be full house by the time of 5:45pm and needed to wait for another hour so we went to Mapo.Well, we have not been back for a while and it was surprised to see the business declined. There was only half of the dining area opened and it was not as busy as before. We tried the a la carte instead of BBQ so ordered a small Kim Chi Omelette, a Fish Roe hot pot and a Beef Shot Rib hot pot. Sides of three different types and the Omelette came first, which were all good. Then hot pots came the next. If the short rib can be cooked for a longer time, fish roe is not overdone and both broth are more rich in flavour, then full marks would be scored. Unfortunately, both hot pots are let down, which reflects the reason why the business is declining…. :(Rating 3.5/5Aug 27, 2016 Rating 4.5/5I totally agree with Steve’s review below, they really serve spectacular tasteful side dishes. This previous Warra Warra spot eventually has its glory days. Had dinner on last Thursday and it was full house during the peak hour. I quite like the idea of children’s corner, which makes its market share much broader. Service is good, friendly and proficient. Ordered the basic marinated platter and the Fine Noodles with Snails (first time to try this type of dish in Korean restaurant. The meats came in generous portion and were marinated just perfectly which is the first time that I see a Korean restaurant using such good recipes to do so. Definitely, charcoal fire makes the BBQ jumping to next level. The portion of Fine noodles with Snails came in huge portion. The mix of salad, snails and soft fine noodles would make you addict on such nice dish and shape the lure to make you return for it. Overall, very nice impression on this restaurant and highly recommend it to other foodies. Have it a go mate!
My go to place for Korean BBQ.Quite busy on Friday/weekend nights. Expect wait a bit if you go there at peak dinner time or book a table to be safe.Price is not cheap but you will get what you pay for. Meat is always fresh and you will feel satisfied you had good meat.Customer service is okay. I like the system of pressing button on table but sometimes it’s faster to just get waiters attention yourself.
