If you like it spicy definitely this place a try. Beautiful blend of spice and heat. It burns but you keep wanting more. Interesting concept of going up to their massive fridge with a box and just picking up as many skewers of meat and vegetables as you want ($0.60 each. Min. 20skewers). Their noodle soups are also divine. The noodles have good texture. Unfortunately staff have limited English and it took us a bit to understand how it worked. Definitely worth a visit though.
We’ve walked past this place several times and usually is moderately busy. It’s fitted out simply and cleanly. The staff we encountered were relatively friendly and the guy who took our order was quite helpful. If it’s your first time it might be a little daunting… There are many permutations with the mix and match selection method of ordering a bowl of noodles. It might have been a bit intimidating if the guy who took our order wasn’t very helpful. You have two basic meal types: a ‘dry’ noodle mix & a soupy noodle. We didn’t try the first type this time, only the soupy variety. My friend ordered ‘stewed beef’ with wheat noodle and tomato base soup. This came with rice noodle instead and was very plain in taste. It also came with chunks of cartilage… Which I like, but my friend did not.I chose thin pork slices, pork liver and giblet with rice noodle and pickle soup. This was somewhat more flavourful and the fairly enjoyable overall. Both soups come with a variety of toppings, which are listed as standard on a separate menu… (More info in the comments section to come)Verdict: clearer menu information would be appreciated. Value for money not bad (regular bowl $12.25 and ginormous bowl $13.95). I’d probably go here again for a simple no brainier meal.
Not going to lie I only went here because the line at Hakataya next door was too long. Was pleasantly surprised and have visited this place since then. Portions are massive, and the soup base combos match quite nicely no matter which ingredients you choose.I did witness them adding a whole sandwich-bag full of msg into their pot of soup though, but what did you expect from an asian restaurant.
