Came with family and ordered the stewed chicken with mushroom noodle soup and the spicy pork trotter noodle soup. There were 7 different noodle soups to choose from – all had different broth and soup styles though. I quite liked the soups, both were very different and even the noodles were different so each noodle suited the broths well. The broth was very light but I felt that the chicken noodle soup was a bit plain (there was no seasoning) so I felt like it needed a bit more flavoring (I had to put some chili oil to add a little pop to it). The spicy port trotter soup was very nice (very spicy!), I think the spiciness really added a depth of flavour to it. However, I noticed that it did not look exactly like the menu (on the menu there were about 5 pieces of pork trotter but in reality there were only 2) so I felt that it was not enough. For dessert, we all ordered the cold jelly dessert – it was jelly in syrup with crushed peanut crumbles on top. This dessert was very simple but perfect as a last dish as it is really easy to eat (it doesnt make you feel bloated and its kind of like a palette cleanser – good for digestion as well). The staff tried to be friendly but most dont really know English so there was a bit of miscommunication as they tried to explain that you had to pay in person when you order the noodle dishes whereas, with the skewers you had to go to the counter to pay. The prices were reasonable though with the noodle soups being $12.80 each but the jelly dessert was tasty and very cheap (only $1 for a reasonably sized portion which was definitely worth it for the price). Overall, the meals were nice (good if you want authentic Chinese soup for a reasonable price). A lot of people were mostly there to eat the skewers ($0.60 per stick), they have a good idea where they place all the different varieties of meat and vegetables already put onto skewers in the fridge and you just pick out each skewer yourselves.
